Why can't I see my entries in Excel

Blue Heeler1 to Excel Users:
I cannot see entries I have mad on a new workbook.
I have used Excel for a number of years and always did my budgeting on a
multi-paged workbook.
I have just launched Excel 2007 and began to edit a workbook.
The entries on the first sheet are alright. But the entries on another
worksheet disappear as soon as I hit "Enter".

Talk about a slow way to do a budget.
Can anyone tell me what might be the problem.

After entering a value, if you click on that same cell again, is your
original content visible in the formula bar, or is the formula bar empty as
well?

My best guess is that you have the cell text color set to white, so when you
finish editing a cell and the contents turns white, you can no longer see it.
