When you say "Information Store", I'm not sure what you're speaking of.
I'm
using Outlook 2003, it's been updated with the latest patches, Our
exchange
server is 2003 and it has our information store folder on there if that is
what you mean. The outlook address book is in alphabetical order and I'm
conducting the search as I mentioned previously, by first name, by last
name,
or by last name, then by first name. I'm putting in "a" name and just by
chance the name that is being used is not being retrieved via the search
mode
in the contacts folder.
All information that you asked me to provide is in this correspondence,
and
I hope that it's clear and concise. I can't explain it any better,
because
of my weak knowledge of Outlook. I followed the instructions you said
that
could possibly be the problem, my reply is what I actually did; revealing
to
you my specific steps. Would you have any other suggestions?

Explain in more detail what kind of information store you are using, how
you
have sorted the Outlook Address Book and how you are conducting the
search.

Hey Russ,
I went to "folder list" and while under folder list, I selected
"Contacts"
and went to properties. I went to the "Outlook Address Book" tab and
it
displayed a check mark next to the statement "show this folder as an
e-mail
address book", below this was a box where you can actually type in the
word
"Contacts". That word was already in place. I re-tested the search
and
again I was unsuccessful.
:
The most likely explanation is that you are adding the Contact to a
folder
that you have not included in your Outlook Address Book Service. See
how
many Contact Folders actually exist in your profile (hint: use Folder
List
to make sure you are seeing them all) and see if they are all enabled
as
email address books in their properties.

Thanks Russ Valentine,
I am using Microsoft Office Outlook 2003 (11.8010.8028) SP2.
When I select my contact tab to create a new address, I fill out all
necessary information then I do a save and close. Once the new
address
is
saved and in the list of my contacts, I try to do a "Type a contact
to
Find",
I'll add the name I'm looking for and when I hit the enter key to do
the
search, the new contact won't show up. I'll get the message
"Outlook
could
not find the requested contact", if I search by last name or first
name,
it
won't show the name of the contact I'm looking for, however, if I
select
the
letter that's associated with the new contact's last name (i.e., "B"
for
Burke), it appears.
So basically, I can't do a search for a contact's name. I have to
do
it
manually. However it'll work on some contacts names, but not all.
:
Each time I enter a contact, and try to find or search for the same
contact
it won't display. However, if I go to the last name manually it
will
display. Could anyone provide any rhyme or reason? I've upgraded
and
updated the software to the latest and greatest.
