please help me! there are pictures on my powerpoints background that are very
important. on the upper bar where it says the title of the powerpoint, it say
"read-only". is that stopping me from saving my slide backgrounds as
pictures? plaese help and get back to me as soon as possible. thank you!

Which drive are you trying to save to? Are you inadvertently trying to save
to a CD? Did you password protect the PowerPoint?

There are a couple of reasons why it might say Read Only.

First, try File, Save As; give the presentation a new name and save it to your
local hard drive. Did that make the "Read only" disappear from the title bar?

If so, now try saving as a web page (regular HTML, not single file MHT).
That'll create a single html file plus a whole folder full of support files.
Somewhere in the support file folder you'll probably find your background
picture.

But if you can't get the Read Only to go away, it may be because of embedded
fonts that you don't have on your system. If you can get the author to send
another copy with no fonts embedded, that'd solve that problem.
