Why can't I reply from a subfolder of Inbox?

I have subfolders setup under my inbox. I have rules that move messages from
someone to a folder I have setup with their name. For instance when I get
email from Maria, I have it automatially go to a subfolder of inbox named
maria. It shows I have email to read from her in her folder. However, if I
try to send a reply to one of those emails it goes out like it is being
mailed but it comes back to me in my inbox like I have emailed myself. It
will not go to the intended person. There is not a copy in my send box. I
look at the header and it states it is coming from me and going to them, but
it is like I am mailing myself. And I do not get the copy in the sent box. I
hope this is clear. I'm not sure what the problem is. It seems that it may
be something with the rule. Can you help? If possible please reply through
email.

Thanks
Marcus

Sue,

That is correct. Now that I have changed it I will see how it responds later
today when I get some email.
Thanks,

Marcus

Sounds like you may have Outlook set to save replies with the original
items -- check Tools | Options.
