Why can't I receive a reply from some people but can others?

I have a few people on my contact list that cannot reply to my emails. The
majority of my contacts can reply. I don't know that they can't until they
try to do so. When the email comes in, and pops up at the bottom of the
screen, I can see their reply (a small amount of it). When I go to my inbox
and click the email, all that I see is my message. Can you help?

One thing that can cause this is having an anti-virus or -spam application
scan your mail as it comes in or goes out.

As stated in the message you yourself quoted, the first thing to do is to
make sure you are NOT scanning email with an antivirus scanner. Uninstall
your AV program and reinstall it without any mail scanning.
