I'm not able to open for example the attachments of my e-mails. There is a
microsoft internet explorer-window saying "ie can't download the file. The
page is either not found or unavailable. Try again later." Any suggestions?

What email client are you using (thunderbird/endura), or are you using
an online service such as Hotmail or Gmail?

Also, if you are using an email client, are you sure that you're
online?

Can you open attachments from other people? Or are all attachments not
'working'?

Do you have a firewall?

The problem is not with my e-mail program (i'm using an university webmail),
because all other files i try to download or open don't work either. If i for
example try to download an up to date version of winamp-player, there is the
same ie-window saying "ie can't download the file. The
page is either not found or unavailable. Try again later."

I'm using the F-Secure Anti-Virus, Internet security and Anti-Spyware
-program (with firewall) and have the default settings in my windows virus
protection center. Anyway, I had been using these programs/settings for a
while when the problems with opening files on the internet started.

Your university may have started firewalling you.

Probably not, cause the downloads of other things don't work either. Not even
mp3s or other files available on the internet pages.
