Why can't I get the Control Panel to keep it's size?

I am using Vista Ultimate with SP1 and ever since I installed it I have had
to stretch the Control Panel so that I have a clear view of the contents
without having to use the scroll bars at the side and at the bottom. This
is getting very irritating because I feel, perhaps wrongly, that the
Operating System should remember my preferences.

Am I doing something incorrectly or is the Operating System not designed to
remember such preferences?

Paul,

What you describe does indeed work. However, after re-booting the PC Vista
does not remember and it is necessary to follow the procedure again. Since
this did not happen with XP or Windows 2000 I wondered if either:-

1. Vista did not retain the settings

2. or I was doing something incorrectly.

By the way, it would be better for all who want to follow this thread that
debates such as this take place on the news group rather than privately.
Accordingly I have copied this to the news group.

Regards,

Stan

Stan,

I also have Ultimate SP1. I have no problems. Try enlarging and then click

on red X in corner to close. Then reopen Control panel. It should open in

full window.
