Why can't I get an answer on this email delete probem?

I can't delete a message from my inbox.

I have tried repairing the datatbase but I get the following error:

"Operation terminated with error -1032 (JET_errFileAccessDenied, Cannot
access file, the file is locked or in use) after 30.62 seconds."

I tried deleting the offending email from the folders but that does not work
either.

Also, tried not showing the preview pane that that does not make a difference.

How can any professional software company ship an email client with this
huge bug!

Reboot. Don not open mail. Turn off your AV, Spyware and Spam filters. Open
mail, try again. Failing that...

Reboot. Go into safe mode, turn off all the above, open mail, try again.

Thanks "Frankster" for your help, but I found out by experimenting that I had
to shutdown the Windows Mail process from the Task Manager, then I could
delete the unlocked WindowsMail.MSMessageStore and also its backup copy in
the backup folder. Once I did this the Windows Mail progarm could rebuild a
new message store and recovered all my messages and the problem went away. :-)

Best regards,

Good deal!

Microsoft has known about this problem for months, and hasn't done a damn
thing about it, just goes to show you what kind of support you can expect
from Microsoft
