Why can I not see the sent messages folder

Can anyone say why it is that I do not appear to even HAVE a sent folder?

I have looked in Tools > Options > Preferences > Email Options > Message
Handling and the box that says "Save copies of messages in Sent Items Folder
is checked.

What version of Outlook? What folders do you see? How many PSTs do you
have open? What type of mail server?

Ok, I'm using Office Pro 2000. This was because I needed Access. Never
upgraded because "If it ain't broke..."
Under messages, I see Inbox, Drafts and Outbox.

If I click on File, Folder, New Folder and then expand Personal Folders (the
place where I will place a newly created folder I can see, alongside Inbox
etc, Sentitems. What I'd obviously like is to see this folder alongside the
others - Inbox, Drafts and Outbox.

I have no idea what a pst is. I'm on broadband with these settings:
pop.mail.yahoo.ca & smtp.mail.yahoo.ca

Ok, I'm running on memory here, but, View - Folder List?

..PST is the Windows file extension used for Personal Folders Files. So if
you only see Personal Folders once in your Folder List, you only have one
..PST file open. It is possible to have more than one open in Outlook at a
time.

Thanks for the help so far. Here is what I've found. Clicking View, Folder
list gives me a new small window pane which says: Outlook Today - [Personal
Folders].

And I've checked to find that Personal Folders appears only once, so I only
have one .pst file open.

That's to clarify. But I'm still stuck!

I see: Drafts, Inbox, Junk E-mail, Phishing E-mail & Sent items which appear
to
be the folders and I also see: Calendar, Contacts, Deleted items, Drafts,
Journal, Notes, Outbox & Tasks. But Junk & Phishing appear to be related to
my Outlook Express - which I have never used on this (new) machine. So it
could be a
problem related to when the software was initialised.

Uhhh....

So you see a folder called Sent Items. Which is the folder that you said
you couldn't see to begin with.

So what is wrong?

What is wrong is that I do not know how to access this folder. When I start
up Outlook and I'm looking at the Personal Folders page it's not there. I can
only see the folder if i go through to create a new folder. So it must be
there on the system somewhere. My problem is how can I view this folder? I
would like it to appear on the Outlook Personal Folders window under where it
says 'Messages' and where, currently, I can see Inbox, Drafts and Outbox.

Ok.

First, let me ask a question again, and I want a simple yes or no.

If you go to View - Folder List, do you see Sent Items? Yes or no?

If yes, when you click on it, are you able to view th eitems in that folder?
Yes or no?

Now, that said. I don't know what you're referring to by the 'Outlook
Personal Folders window' so, tell you what, email me a screenshot and I'll
try to tell you how to add Sent Items to whatever it is that you're looking
at. My email address is on this post.

Thanks for all your help. You've answered my question. I didn't know that I
could use View to access this folder. Now I can find it easily I'm not
bothered that it doesn't appear in the window that I mentioned.
