Why are wireless monitors so rare? Industry consipracy theory!

I want to get a wireless monitor.
I've done a few searches.
And am a reseller of hardware myself.
I can't find many available... only one or two available.

Why is this?

I thought that having wireless monitors is would be a logical step
up...?

I'd say there was an industry conspiracy going. : )
All the technology is there to make wireless monitors...
But they are just holding back until they have milked the market of
everything it will take with standard monitors.

I would add that the same goes for speakers.
Yes... I know they are available... I've seen the odd one here or
there...
But why is it not WIDELY available?
There is no technological reason to stop this.

Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Because of the bandwidth needed to display high-res images
at high refresh rates... and of course the expense.

I thought that having wireless monitors is would be a logical step

No, in actuality wireless is poor for even a low bandwidth
device such as a mouse, but users like this little freedom
enough to offset the performance loss as it's at the
threshold of their senses.

How much will you pay?
You could probably buy a high bandwidth broadcast and
receive pair, for a few thousand dollars each, and have them
cabled to the system and the monitor and to their power
supplies and, well you have not gotten rid of cables.

Because there are practical considerations of quality and
expense. Because a few wires aren't all that bad,
particularly if one doesn't care about quality or the
sensory experience they can just set the wired device next
to the system- and then it makes no difference.

There's no technical reason why we aren't all flying to the
moon today either... rather practical reasons.
