Why are some friends receiving two copies of my emails?

I'm new to outlook so am a little unfamiliar with my way around. My problem
is that some friends have reported that they are receiving two copies of any
emails I send them.

Is this my problem or theirs. Can I change my settings in some way to
rectify it. The email address in question will primarily be used for a new
business venture. I don't want to alienate potential customers by clogging
up their inboxes!

All advice welcome.
 
Need more information before you can determine where the problem is. Does
every person get 2 copies, do the people that get 2 copies - do they get 2
copies every time and only from you, do they have rules which might be
causing the problem, anything special about the people receiving 2 copies.
Also please give info on your computer configuration
