Why are my sent emails saved in my outbox and not my sent items folder?

The emails are still being sent as I receive replies back
to my emails however when I go into my sent items folder
there is nothing there. All of my sent items are being
saved in my outbox. This is very frustrating as I then
lose the capability to search by date sent etc. Any help
is greatly appreciated!

Have you tried this? In Outlook, click on "Tools", then "Options". On the
"preferences" tab, click the "email options" button. Make sure the "save
copies of messages in sent items folder" is checked.

What version of Outhouse are you using? The only time I've ever seen
messages left in left in my outbox is when they weren't sent. However,
I could see whatever mail server you are connecting to actually sending
the message, but giving Outlook an 'error code' back saying it wasn't
sent. It is unlikely, but you might check your timeout values for talking
to the mail server. Should be about 30 seconds for timeout (though default
is 1 minute). Next thing might be to turn on outlook logging Under advanced
options...makes files under your home directory (dir above My Documents),
but under local-settings\temp I think...might tell you something from there.

If you have trouble finding the log file get the filemon util from the
www.sysinternals website which will show you all of the file activity --
filter
on Outlook (or you will get tons of info to sort through). It will tell you
or lead you to where it is keeping the log files.

Good luck!
