Hi

Why are files in the My Documents folder always set to read only on my
WinXP system?

Is there a registry edit to stop this from happening.

Regards

Sean

I do not have any first-hand experience with Windows XP (this is a Windows 2000
newsgroup). So all I can suggest is that you read the following Microsoft Knowledge
Base Article on the subject. And if you have any more questions post to the
appropriate newsgroup: microsoft.public.windowsxp.newuser

KB326549 - You Cannot View or Change the Read-Only or System Attribute of Folders

As follows is a link to the Windows XP Support Center. On this Web Page you will
find many resources for WinXP users. One resource is a link to the Microsoft Windows
XP Newsgroups where you can select an appropriate WinXP group and post a question via
the Microsoft Communities Web Page.
