as of last week for no apparent reason i can tell, whenever i restart my computer (i use windows XP), there are certain file folders that automatically open, for example the folder named system 32. i haven't a clue as to why this is and more importantly, i have no idea how to stop these folders from opening. so far i don't think this has negatively affected my compter, but it is frusrating that this continues to happen and that i do not know how to fix this. I have limited computer know-how, so if anyone has any suggestions or recommendations as to what i should do about this problem it would GREATLY be appreciated!!!!

See http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;[LN];170086; applies
to Windows XP as well.

Krs: I experienced the same annoying occurance and lucked upon another group of sufferers, one of which had a solution
The web site I was directed to is www.djdenham.com I ended up just checking off the "do not show this again" box on the welcome message of the audigy 2 sound blaster program. Check out this helpful posting and good luck!
