Why am I receiving 2 copies of every email message?

When I download my messages from my inox I am consistently getting 2 copies
of the message instead of the normal single copy. Why is that? I have
checked all my settings and I find no reason why? Any ideas?

Do you have a rule in place that would move the messages to a folder and
then not have it stop processing rules?
