Why am I getting a white box with an "X" instead of gif files

My computer crashed and I had to recover. After I reloaded Frontpage, I can
access the files on my remote site. However, the embedded gif files appear
as blank boxes with a small "X" in a box in the right hand corner. How do I
correct this?

URL??

Sound like your images were never uploaded to the live/remote server, so you were the only one that
could see them because they were referenced to your local machine. Now that you have recovered your
computer the images are not longer available.

What they said, and a point of information. GIF's aren't embedded in pages, they are
linked to.
