Hello everybody,
I'm a new incomer, novice computer user and it's the first time I am using
this service.
This is what happened :
not that I have any problem with, but, I just don't understand why this
program UPDATE.EXE 6.2.0029.0 (99000981808e8bf9c7d1) from MS went into my c:\
directory on a new folder. I didn't ask for it to go there. I am not even
sure that I downloaded such program. Moreover, it doesn't work. I have an
error message telling me that I dont have enough mamory. That's not true. I
am running Windows WP home edition with SP 2. What could this be ?

Hi EYFEL, had you looked up Google for "update.exe virus", you would
have found the solution for your problem: it may be a virus:

Here some detail:

"Process File: update or update.exe
Process Name: Downloader.W32.Gen

Description:
update.exe is registered as the W97M.Exedrop downloader. This process
usually comes bundled with a virus and it’s main role is to do
nothing other than download other viruses to your computer. It is a
registered security risk and should be removed immediately.

your browsing habits and distributes the data back to the author's

Hello Rolf,
it's me again.
I can't solve my problem ! I still need help. The articles ans adresses that
I've found with Google serch led me to sites where they have sometihing to
sell. I already have one AV program on my machine and it is Securitoo from F
Secure. The thing is that yhe virus that infected may machine, turns off the
AV program who becomes useless. I scanned with Kaspersky on-line, this AV
program told me that there were CWS Combo virus on my machine, another one
said that there was a Downloader Trojan W32. Blackmal.E@mm (name given by
symantec), the same virus that F Secure calls Email-Worm.W32.VB.bi
So, what to do. I am running XP home edition in case it is necessary to knox
it . Do you know any other mean that can help me get rid of this disease.
