Why 9800 doesn't have FM tuner as 9700/9600 do?

Why 9800 doesn't have FM tuner as 9700/9600 do?

I think FM tuner is a good featuer for all people likes to listen to
the radio. Personnaly I've never used a FM tuner on PC before, so I
don't know how good FM tuners really are.

Why don't they even add AM frequencies too?
 
My 9600 doesn't have an FM tuner.

Maybe you are looking at 2 completely different types of video cards, a
bare-bones 9800 and a fully loaded 9700/9600?

I don't have anything at all on my Sapphire 9600 Pro, just a fast GPU and
fast RAM (not the fastest, but it does what I need for half the price of the
top of the line at the time I bought it) with no bells and whistles.

They still broadcast in AM?

They do indeed, especially in the UK. There's such competition for FM
frequency space radio stations that do not require the clarity of FM
(talk shows, sport etc) tend to end up on AM.

DAB should help solve this problem, but then we'll all want our video
cards to do that too!

Heh..I would have preferred AM instead of FM.
I just bought the aiw 9600xt. Being in my underground computer
dungeon doesnt help the reception much, but those stations that do
come in, come in clear. They supply you with one of those 'T' shaped
wire antennas. Radio shack should have a better quality one that I
could probably run out my window. IF there was anything worth
listening to on FM.
 
In the U.S., FM is in the same frequency band as TV. AM is not. It would
require another tuner.$$$

Sharkey Extreme had a review of it.
Basically the 9800 AIW was done then they (why I never know) RETOOLED
and made the 9600 AIW with the tuner -- which has failed with me and
still wondering what to do about it..

So it is 9600 (base) -> 9800 SERIES (+AIW) -> 9600 AIW
