Who's using AntiVir PE?

I wasn't satisfied with AVG or Avast because of the relatively high resource
usage. In fact, AVG *felt* as though it was slowing the machine down a bit.
I installed AntiVir PE and have found nothing to dislike at all. Half the
resources of the other two and the updates come about every day, sometimes
twice a day. Of course, I don't know how effective it is?

I'd agree with your comments about AVG, but Avast 'high resource usage'??

AVG7 was scrapped on my daughters PC and replaced with Avast and she
commented that she immediatly noticed Avast used far less resources than
AVG. She is only using a Pentium-MMX 200MHz running Win 98SE and she is
extremely happy with Avast's performance, so issues at all and she often
runs other things while Avast is doing it's thing.

I am running Win XP Pro and have no problems with Avast using too many
resources, however with my first install I did have such problems, took ages
to run anything but that seemed to be more an issue with scanning files when
running, but a reinstall solved the dilema and showed Avast to be just as
good with resources as AntiVir PE was (which I had tried before as well).

If you're not sure about AntiVir I'd suggest reinstalling Avast and see if
the resources issue is now resolved, however others in this NG seem to feel
AntiVir PE works fine.
