I just bought an external USB hard disc enclosure. The documentation
included the following instructions, which are reproduced exactly as
found, including the annoying, pretentious, SMS-ese crap.

====================================================================
Whopping the product properly

You must click the "safly remove hardware " icon on the right of the
taskbar,if u want to stop the product and then there a direction
telling that the USB Mass storage device can now be safely remvd.then
u can whop the USBcable from the USB port and then there appeared a
direction telling that the USB Mass storage device can now be safely
remvd.then u can whop the USBcable from the USB port
====================================================================

I wondered what "whop" meant in this context, so I consulted the
dictionary:

http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=whop

–verb (used with object)
3. to put or pull violently; whip: to whop out a book.

Yeah, that's weird. Apparently they don't care that their main market
speaks English.

Why don't you tell us what make and model?

*LOL* I always wondered about that whop thing.

You've found a winner, Franc.

Once upon a time, whilst fiddling with an imported model airplane engine,
the enclosed documentation bragged of its "bolle bealing" crankshaft
support....

When you have some time one day do a google search on some piece of
harware........make sure you have international settings in google.
Then pick some European site..Italian/german.Once there click for google to
interpret into English.
You will have fun trying to interpret the "English" into something you can
understand.

Now that is hilarious!!

The make is "Inki1" and the model is 837:
http://www.inki1.com/product_view.asp?id=851&names=Inki1-837 (SATA & IDE )

The main chip is a JMicron JM20337 Hi-Speed USB to SATA & PATA Combo
Bridge:
http://www.jmicron.com/PDF/JM20338/JM20337.pdf

If you can stand it, try reading the user destructions at the bottom
of the page.

Notice, also, that the company is actually Australian.

I guess they outsource to Asia. Then, maybe they don't have the
technical staff or they just don't care, and they don't do any
editing of the written material sent to them.
