I attempted to wipe a spyware program from my hard drive
and it seemed to wipe everything from my system. I
reloaded XP but the modem wasn't configuring so I called
Microsoft and after 17 hours on the phone, the problems
have multipled. Now my computer is almost frozen, such as
I can't install any updates. I click on the Update now
and it doesn't do a thing. I try to defrag, nothing, I
try to load a driver nothing. The Microsoft help line
just keeps making it worse. Can any one help? Thanks. T

I can't help with your current problem but for the
future both ad-aware and spybot when they remove spyware
they place it in a backup folder for just this reason. If
you are having trouble after a removal you can reinstall
it.

XP is not responsible for setting up your modem. What kind of computer is
this, store bought, or a home build and what are your system spec's.
