What problem? My system runs great with DX9.0b & the 3.6 catalyst drivers.
Likewise.

if you don't have a card with a tuner or have an NTSC
vversion you won't have a problem.
Its a wonder MSFT haven't pulled it from their website until such aGlzmo said:And it's not only ATi Cards that it messes up, but other PAL-TV Boards as
well. So I guess Microsoft will have to come up with a fix, not the
manufacturers.
Ditto here, very stable.
Paul said:You must be using an NTSC Tuner (or tuner-less) card then because
those with PAL tuner cards are having this problem. Fortunately I
found out about the bug at the same time I heard DirectX 9.0b was
released so thanks to all those who trialed bleeding edge technology
before me, I'm holding off on a DirectX update until the fix comes
along.

Interesting - perhaps the Original Poster should have stated they had a PAL TV Tuner card.Dr. Oliver Brock said:Joe727 said:What problem? My system runs great with DX9.0b & the 3.6 catalyst drivers.
HI NG,
I wrote to (e-mail address removed) a few days ago and got the following
response:
"Unfortunately this is true. We apologize for this inconvenience. We
are currently working on an update. It will be available via Windows
Update as soon as it is available.

Subject: ATI AllinWonder TV function doesnt work
Hi,
after upgrading direct X to 9b I cant use the TV portion of my AIW
9000PRO PAL under Windows XP anymore.
Its not possible to select a TV standard thus no scanning of the
channels is possible.
I am using all the latest ATI drivers, and it happenend just after
installing DirectX 9b, it seems it happenend to many other users as
well.
Are you working on a fix, when can I exspect it? This TV card is the
only TV I have got, and I am VERY diappointed about Microsoft releasing
such an update to Direct X , which stops not-so-difficult hardware from
working.
Waiting for information,
Regards,
O. Brock"
There is an unofficial fix for the PAL problem which involves replacing a
DX9.0b file with a DX9.0a file.

It worked perfectly for me on Windows 2000 Pro SP4 and others have reported
success with WindowsXP. Don't know about older Windows though.
Strangely once the files are substituted DXDIAG still reports DX9.0b with no
errors (even in file versions) but my TV has worked fine ever since and I
haven't found any other glitches.
You can download it from here:
http://www.mustafa.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/fix.zip
There are instructions included but they aren't wuite accurate (at least not
for W2k) best bet is to do a search for the file (I found 4 copies) and
replace all of them.
You can also backup the original files and restore them if/when MS come out
with an official fix so that you can apply the official one.
Good luck.
