Hello

today i got two times the message (translated from german):
"You where logged off because someone else logged in under your account"

i have no idea who are what this might be. is there any way to figure
out the IP Adress or something similar of the machine that logs in as
me? could it be some application on my own pc?

thanks for any help!

The issue could be related to you having had your account compromised, or
you may have Messenger loading in the background as a result of an antivirus
scanner. Norton Antivirus' Instant Messenger Scanning feature forces
msmsgs.exe to run in order to safeguard file transfers, leading to that
error message you encountered.

If you have NAV installed and would like to disable Instant Messenger
Scanning from causing false warnings, simple double-click Norton's desktop
icon --> click "Options" --> go to the "Instant Messenger" window, and
uncheck the "MSN/Windows Messenger" box.

Thanks Michael. I have CA eTrust Antivirus installed here for quite some
time(company PC). So that schouldn't be it. i changed the password now,
let's see if it helps. though i would rather wanna know what happened.
so if anyone has an idea how to figure out who or what logged in, let
me know. maybe there's some kind of history available online?

kind regards

If you inadvertently log in to both Win Messenger and into MSN messenger you
can get this alert.
Another way is to have multiple users set up on your system and log into
messenger using the same ID from more than one user.
