I'm not seeing the incentive here...

U should go to dell and get the latest drivers, because in
my experience, it is not windows that does not allow mute,
but the programs made by 3rd parties. For me, I can use my
mute and Volume buttons in MS Games, but not in certain others

MS SP2 is worthless. Try uninstalling it and boy are you
in for a shock. You will have to repair Windows and MS
programs also you will have to reinstall the wifi
software. Talk from experiance.

Good luck.

Blame?
Whose computer is it?
Same answer for both most likely.

That sounds like a driver issue.
Go to the website of the keyboard manufacturer and get the latest
drivers.

"MS SP2 is worthless"?
Really?
Works fine here.
No shock at all.
Perhaps your "shock" was caused by yourself.
Was the computer hardware and software compatible with SP-2?
Did you prepare the computer for SP-2?
