Who is responsible?

What a farce that was to get fixed!

I don't know how they can say the power supply problem isn't covered under warranty and would cost £250 - plus £40 delivery! At least they got a new one in the end, and will hopefully mean the retailers learn some lessons the hard way ;)

Well since comet sold her the laptop it has nothing to do with acer.

So comet takes all the blame here and should never pass it on to the maker of the laptop.

Quite right michael555 - I can't stand comet - their standard line is "It needs to be sent back to XXXXXX". "We are not reponsible - no we will NOT give you a new one, no that's definitely not what the Sale of Goods Act says." "Our legal department told us so" etc. etc.

One man who brought an excerpt of the SOG act to the store and asked to see the store manager ended up getting the police called on him, because he got upset because they refused to talk to him at all once he brought the exercpt in. Very unfair this (cannot find a link, that news story was over 2 years ago)

I've not shopped there since a row with them in August '06 - will never shop there again.

***Note - everyone has to make their own decisions about whether to shop at Comet, not based on my experiences***
