who is my ISP and how to contact them?

know nothing about computers or e-mails and need to know what my password,
outgoing and incoming server types are for windows mail on my brand new,
shiny and useless vista premium infused laptop

I suppose all those details are on the system somewhere, and they all must
have been implemented during the original system installation but I haven't
got a clue how to access them.

You have already asked virtually the same question
and it has already been answered.

If what you say is true contact the pc vendor
and demand satisfactory documentation including
the Internet details such as provider, user id and password
or demqand an instant refund on the basis that what they sold
you is not fit for purpose.

Then go to a different vendor that provides reasonable
customer support. Don't part with your money until
they have explained the set up to your satisfaction
and have at least a paper copy of the ISP details.

The PC vendor has nothing to do with e-mail client settings. Demanding
that they tell you makes little sense. Go to your ISP and ask *them*. If
you do not know who your ISP is...frankly, I wouldn't know what to say
other than, are you sure you even signed up with one? Otherwise, there
is no way anyone here can tell you.

The OP didn't mention if the PC was from a major vendor like Dell or if
it was custom built. If it was custom built and Vista was already setup
and an account created, then, yes, ask them what the password is. If it
was from a company like Dell, then you had the choice of creating a
password or not when it went through the initial start-up process the
first time you turned it on.

I know it doesn't make sense but if the OP is online with his new laptop
and he didn't install ISP software who else could have but the vendor?

This thread and the other one he started earlier are just goofy. Clearly
the only logical explanation is aliens came down from Mars and installed
the "ISP software". Or perhaps the OP is *really* confused and cannot
adequately explain the situation.

Yes, that's why I went back to square one and have attempted
to find out if he posted from his shiny thing or the asylum library.
