Hi,
When I go to shut down windows it asks me if I am sure as others are logged
on to this computer...........who are they?
How do I find out? What do they want.......please help? TIA John

Thanks for the reply Raj, I use the Administrator logon (not wise I
believe), but there are also Asp.net and Guest accounts. I dont have
an active screensaver set up or power options used, but I did as you
suggested and unticked the "Prompt for password". I know that its not an
indication that someone has hacked in, that would be tooo obvious.......but
it gives that uncomfortable feeling of "uhoh THEY are watching me
again"(joke). John

Do you have more than one user account?
Are you using Switch User option to switch between user accounts?
or
Do you have Screen Saver or Power Options set, which puts you back on
Welcome Screen when they run?

This message usually comes when you are logged in to more than one account
at a time using Switch User option and you try to Shut Down your computer
without logging off

or

you are clicking "Turn Off Computer" button at the Welcome Screen. This
happens when your screen saver or power option puts you back on Welcome
Screen and you decide to turn off your computer without perior to login to
your setting again. Then computer ask you to be sure as any unsaved data will
lost. Because this time computer will not close any running application but
kill all running process and therefore if any unsaved document is open it
will be lost.

You can tell the computer not to put you back on Welcome Screen after Power
Saving Option or Screen Saver. To do this:

1. Right-click on Desktop and choose Properties.
2. Click Screen Saver tab and uncheck "On resume, display Welcome Screen".

and

1. Click Start - Control Panel
2. open Power Options
3. Click Advanced tab and uncheck the option "Prompt for password....."

Hope this help, let us know!
