Hello all,

I'm hoping that someone can answer the question- What printer manufacturer
has the best printhead that won't burn out? Currently, I have a Canon S400
printer that I have yet to use a refill kit for because the printhead burns
out after maybe 50-75 pages printed continuously. It probably doesn't help
that I have been using black only to increase printing speed, and the black
channel is usually the first one to stop printing. However, after going
through 2 printheads in the last couple of months, I'd like to ask if there
is either a better printhead replacement that won't burn out or what
manufacturer has a different printhead design altogether that doesn't
malfunction? I've heard that the Epson printers use a better design- any
comments?

Obviously, due to the high cost of these Canon printheads, I am considering
switching to a better printer where I can actually start using my refill
kit!

Any helpful comments would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jacob

Epson's never burn out as nothing gets hot, but they do eventually clog and
refuse to clear so effectively die after a couple of years or so. If they
are used regularly (every couple of days minimum) they tend to work problem
free mostly. HP's almost never clog but the cartridges are expensive as
they contain a new print head, but they can usually be refilled several
times before the quality starts to drop off as long as you don't let them go
empty - this usually burns out the head as the cooling effect of the ink has
vanished.
