Hi Folks,
Back again with loadsa silly questions. today i was nosing through my security setting(Bit defender 2009) and spotted a whitelist. Imo, this is supposed to be a list of all friendly's that may come and go thru my firewall. In my whitelist there is a truck load of friendly's that i certainly would not allow in there.
My question is "do security systems come pre-loaded with stuff the makers deem to be trustworthy?.If they don't then i need to find out how they got there and is the list growing. I have done deep scans with the Bit defender and also Malwarebytes/anti malware and there doesnt seem to be anything suspicious going on. Am i being worried over nothing?
 Zzzzz

Am i being worried over nothing?
yep

I'm all for "whitelists" providing I can add or remove any anomalies. ;)

Whitelists are relatively new, only being talked about a couple years or so ago ... Time will tell.

I dont know about that. Would you allow Warez and limewire on your list cos theyre on mine and endless others that i'm not impressed with or happy about???

I've never bothered to look, but then I no longer use an all-in-one "security" solution.

As I also said ... "providing I can add or remove any anomalies" ... however, P2P programs are not the first thing I would install in a Windows environment, but, they are not the "problem", it's what you may download from them that may be an undesirable. ;)

Not been a "fan" of Bit Defender you will probably get better "help" from ...
