White text, tough to edit.

I am running PPT 2000 on a PC, I have a blue background with a text box that
is filled with no color and has white text. When I select the text to edit
it, it hi-lights it all with a big white fill and I can't see what letters
or word I am editing.

It's on the master slide if that makes any difference. That text box is
always changing so it's kind of important. Our sales people always have
problems editing that field. Is there some setting that I am missing?

TIA

Jeff

Try going to Format > Slide Color Scheme and change the Background color to
dark blue. Does that help?

The easiest way to get around this without changing the slide itself is to open the outline pane and type the text there in plain ol' black & white. To open the outline pane, select View > Normal from the menu or click the first view toolbar button at the bottom-left corner of the PowerPoint window. If the outline pane still doesn't appear, hover your mouse cursor at the left edge of the window and drag right to open it up.
HTH!
