Hello,

I have set up live web to import webpages directly into powerpoint. one
webpage has a tab that i need to click in order to load another page.
Currently the page loads outside of Powerpoint on an internet explorer page.
Is there anyway to set up power point so that when i click the tab the new
page will open in a new slide of powerpoint?

Thanks

That makes sense: you have a browser "hosted" on your PPT slide, so when you
click on a link on the html page you're viewing in the browser, it'll open in
the browser. If the link's set to spawn a new page, I expect you'd see what
you've just described.
Is there anyway to set up power point so that when i click the tab the new
page will open in a new slide of powerpoint?

Two ideas:

1) edit the html on the first page so that the link isn't set to open a new
page. This might be as simple as removing the

target="something"

attribute from the link or it might involve mucking about with javascript. If
you can do this, then the link should open in the same browser instance,
meaning it'll stay on the same slide w/in PPT.

2) remove the link from the HTML and use a PPT link instead ... have it take
you to a different slide in PPT that uses Live Web to host the desired page.

If you don't have control over the original HTML (ie, can't edit it), you could
possibly insert a screen shot of the first web page into the first PPT page and
draw your own links atop it.

Hi Steve,

Thank you for the information. Unfortunately I am fairly new to all of this
and am slightly confused. Can you possibly assist me in the number 2 step of
removing the HTML link and making a PP link instead?

Thank you

Sure ... you'd right-click on the existing link and choose Remove Hyperlink from the
popup menu.

Then select the text or shape to be linked again, rightclick and choose Action
Settings. In the Action Settings dialog, choose Hyperlink To:, pick Slide and then
choose the slide you want to link to (you'll have to create it first, of course).

This would be the slide with the other instance of Live Web to display the second
web page.
