while doing disk cleanup it now freezes on me, on compress old files!!!

while doing a disk cleanup on C drive it now freezes on me, on the compress
old files, any ideas how to get it to progress to the end of the check?

Try the following web sites:

the right-hand window, click on "Disk Cleanup - Compress Old Files Freezes"

Simply click on Kelly's fix, download the registry fix, then run it
