I want to be able to connect to my Dad's pc (he lives in another state) via
the internet and control it remotely, because he is not real computer
literate and often needs help with Outlook, Word, etc. But I don't know
which version of Windows Vista I need to do this? Window Vista Ultimate?
Which version would my Dad need. Can he keep XP Professional?

thanks,
Kurt

Sorry, I should have re-read before replying. If he has XP Pro, and you're
trying to connect to him, you can use ANY version of Vista to connect to
him. But, if it was the other way round, then that is another story...

XP pro and Vista Business or above come with Remote Desktop host. Other OS can be the Remote Desktop client. This link may help,

You can use any version of Vista to remote into his XP Pro. If he wants to
upgrade to Vista, he'll need Business or Ultimate.
