I would like to connect two computers and ADSL modem. From i've read, in
respect of security, worst solution is use of a hub or switch, since in this
case all my shared files are accesible to anyone. While better solution is
use of two LAN cards in one computer, since in this case i can disable file
sharing in one card (that one which holds ADSL modem). I know that second
solution requires this PC to be on if other wants Internet access.

BUT, what if i decide to share only printer and no files, does this changes
anything regarding security?

I have Win XP Pro and Norton personal firewall. (on both PC's)

In my opinion, the best solution is to get a broadband router to share
the ADSL connection. The router acts as a firewall, preventing other
Internet users from accessing your shared files and printers.

Then next best solution is to un-bind sharing from TCP/IP (which
prevents other Internet users from accessing your shared files and
printers) and installing IPX/SPX for sharing. I've written a web page
with details:

Windows XP Network Protocols
http://www.practicallynetworked.com/sharing/xp/network_protocols.htm

I wouldn't rely on printer-only sharing to keep hackers out.
