Which to choose/implement USB2.0/IEEE1394 for connecting externalDVD Burner

I'm ordering a Sony 510UL ($329 @ Newegg) and would like opinions (or
facts if you have them) on connecting it using either the USB2.0 ports
or the Firewire/IEEE1394 ports. I've not yet installed the Firewire
bracket, but it looks simple enough.

In reading this newsgroup and others I think I want to use the Firewire
because I have no other Firewire devices so the drive will be by
itself. My USB devices so far are all 1.1, but I will be adding some 2.0
devices in the future.

I've searched this newsgroup using 1394, ieee1394 and firewire. None of
the posts I viewed seem to apply here.

Firewire (IEE1394).

It's the better option, those thinking that USB 2 will blow it out of the
water will only be able to do so until Firewire 800 comes mainstream...

Thanks for the reply. Speed wasn't upper most in my mind. I am more
concerned with stability. From what I've been able to discern from tests
and posts is that USB2.0 never seems to top IEE1394 in speed.
Theoretical 480 of USB2.0 is unfortunately just theory.
