Which HELP>ABOUT or Properties do I go to check whether I have Windows SP1
installed or SP1a?
Properies of My Computer shows Service Pack 1. Is this general information
that I have installed a service pack or does it state that it isn't SP1a?
Thanks for any info.

Thanks for reply.
It states Version: 5.1.2600 Service Pack 1 Build 2600
I guess this is SP1, and not SP1a.
Am I right?
Thanks again.

Most welcome, Gino.

Go to Start/Run/Regedit and navigate to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion

In the right pane, scroll down to: SubVersionNumber if SP1a is installed it
will read a.

Also here:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Updates\Windows XP\SP1\Q324720

And:

The title for the Windows XP Service Pack 1 entry in the Add or Remove
Programs tool in Control Panel is changed to "Windows XP Service Pack 1a."

Yes. But I take it you're aware that SP1 and SP1a are the same
except that SP1a doesn't have some stuff that M$ were required to remove
following a court case? So if you have SP1 you don't need 1a.
If you *really* want to know what's in your box download Aida32
from:

about your hardware and software.
