I tend to lean toward the iP6600 because it has 1 picolitre droplet size
and six ink tanks. The iP8500 in faster but only delivers 2 picolitre
size droplets. I don't think the two extra tanks it has makes much of a
difference in print quality. It does take the BCI-6 ink tanks though
that are more economical and come in compatible brands. The iP6600 is
less than half the price of an iP8500 and you can refill the CLI-8
cartridges. If I were buying a photo printer today it would be the iP6600.

that depends on what you are printing and then it makes a big difference

there are no compatible brands. only relabelers who will no disclose
what they are selling you

neither. for near the money of an ip8500 you can get an i9900 or a
pro9000 both wide format printers. a better value.

Measekite unfortunatly likes to make stuff up. The i9900 and the
ip8500 tend to be close in price, but both are closeout models at
closeout prices. The pixma pro 9000 is not even released yet, nor has
a price been posted. Now if you have the space the i9900 is worth
looking at, esp since the specs are the same as the soon to be released
pro 9000, but unless you need a3 printing.

As far as the ip5200 being "better", frankly I doubt it.
