I have a friend who need a power point viewer. Microsoft offers a 2003 and
2007 different downloads viewers.

Which would be best for casual PPS viewing?

Did you read the descriptions of each? Seems like a simple choice to me.

PowerPoint Viewer 2003 lets you view full-featured presentations created in
PowerPoint 97 and later versions.

PowerPoint Viewer 2007 lets you view full-featured presentations created in
PowerPoint 97 and later versions.

Notice - that one sentence clipped from each of their download sites is
exactly the same.

The difference... The 2007 PowerPoint Viewer views PowerPoint 97, 2000, XP,
2003 and 2007 PowerPoint files. The 2003 PowerPoint Viewer would not
necessarily be able to view PowerPoint 2007 files.

While I am unsure what 'casual PPS viewing' is - I do know that at this
moment your friend might be better off being able to view the last five
types of PowerPoints they could run into instead of just the last four
types...

Aha---it will be 2007. I'm not up to snuff on some of the terms
used. Thanks.

Welcome.
