Of the various PDF creators, which work as a pseudo-printer, which is
best? I'm particularly concerned about file size, as my PDFs will be
available as web downloads.

Hi !
I use CutePDF Writer, and it does a good job.

I`ve tried these pseudo-printer ones, but they are no good for files bigger
than one page.
If you need to convert into anything useful ( i.e. a downloadable
leaflet/book ), then I find that Open Office is just the job. Just use the
word processor part , I inserted scanned page images and then `newlined`
till onto the next page then insert the next scanned image/page etc.
Then all you have to do is hit the "PDF" button on tool bar and Hey Presto
job done.

Ashley (Runt)

I'm a CutePDF man myself, still with the CutePDF printer version. Recently I
tried both CutePDF Printer and Adobe Distiller on the same print job. I was
surprised to find that CutePDF was much faster and made a slightly smaller
file. Maybe that was dependent on the source material in my case, but it's
true.

Sorry, but CutePDF Writer makes a good job with docs that contain
multiple pages.

How do you do with Quark Xpress docs ?

I like FreePDF XP <http://www.shbox.de/>

The site is in German, but the program has an English option. I like
how it has a "combine with next job" choice so I can create a single
PDF from the output of many different programs.
