Hi

I'm ready to load Office and have two Patitions: C:\
(active,100GB) and E:\ Partition (4GB) which is where I
store My documents and settings. I would perfer to use to
use the E:\ partition so as to use the C:\ partition
mainly for the OS. Any ideas? Thanks

A 100 gig partition, just for the O/S, is a gross overkill. I usually set up
XP with between 8-15 gigs. The rest I partition off for other personal
files, downloads, music, videos etc!

I generally agree with the other comments, for example my C: is only
5GB and currently 3.90GB is free because I install all programs
including some aspects of Office to D: which is also 5GB. Most
programs also install files to where Win XP resides and that you can't
change.

I have E: 5GB which I use to dump downloads until I do my sorting and
virus checking.
My F: is 25GB and contains only MP3s currently 12MB free.
G: About 35GB used for backup currently 20GB free.
J: 5GB. A second installation of Win XP Pro which I'm currently using.

Then I have an external hard disk 120GB with 4 partitions dedicated
for backups.

Reading the various responses you might hit on a setup that suits you.
