Which one of the Windows Vistaso is equal to what I have?

I have now Windows XP Media Center Edition 2004, 5.1.2600 Service Pack 2,
Build 2600.
Which one of the new upcoming Vistasos in the stores will be the equal to
what I have?


Also: I saw in an adverstisement a Vista with a "Bill Gates version" or his
name or something refering to him. What is that one about?

No idea. I tend to ignore adverts on the grounds that watching them would
mean paying someone to lie to me. If I have to do that, I can go elsewhere
and get told lies that at least make for an interesting story...
 
That is a limited edition version of Windows Vista Ultimate (Upgrade)
that is signed by Bill Gates. There will only be 20,000 copies made and
signed. They will probably sell fast considering they will be a collector's item.

Twenty-thousand? There is no way one man can sit and sign his name
twenty-thousand times. No friggin' way. And Bill Gates, for 10.00 each?
His time is worth more than that.

Yeah, I was just thinking that. I doubt they are actually signed. It is
probably just printed on the label and declared the 'signature edition'.

Does that really do everything XP MCE can do?
I thought that unlike XP MCE, Vista Home Premium does not have the
Remote Desktop server (it can connect to RD servers, but it does not
have the server side itself). I might be wrong, but this would be a
difference between XP MC and VHP to consider, depending your needs.

You can see for yourself here which editions will have/include MCE and which
won't. Vista MCE has a number of additional improvements over your MCE 2004
version--so in many respects any edition with MCE in Vista is considerably
improved.

I remember when I was in grade school when the teacher made me write 100
repeat sentences for talking to another student during class, that was
painful. Then we got creative and held 5 pencils together in one hand thus
enabling us to write 5 sentences concurrently, 20x5=100, thus serving one
fifth of the punishment.

Maybe Bill Gates figured out a mechanism that held 1000 pens together,
20x1000=20,000. Nah, probably not.

anything that it hurts to write a check out. LOL.

Besides, we all know that Bill is way too busy posing in here as Firewall2
and as Mr. Vista to be signing his name 20,000 times.
