I want to transfer my contacts files to a new PC but have 8 .pst files in the
folder. The old PC used XP & Outlook 2003. The new PC uses Vista and Outlook
2007.

Sorry, I meant to add that only 1 of the .pst files has a recent "modified" date and the rest are anywhere from 3 to 5 years old. I really have no interest in transferring old emails, just contacts. Thanks,

Only need to transfer the one(s) you are using. Right click on the root of
your PST folder(s) in your Outlook navigation pane --> Properties -->
Advanced and you'll see the exact PST file name and its location. Suggest
you have Outlook closed before copying the file(s).

In addition to your current default PST file which Karl has mentioned you
might also have archive PSTs which are usually named archive.pst or similar.
open them via File | Open and see what is in them.

Why not open each and see if any contains anything of value? Then you can
transfer all that contain data you wish to use. If any contains only old
data you don't need, then don't transfer it.
