Hey guys. Basically I don't really know where to start and could do
with some advice to get me off the ground.

I'm looking for a new motherboard that I will, in all likelihood, pair
up with a Q9300 or Q9450 Quad Core CPU. I am likely to want:

- One graphics card slot, though more couldn't hurt.
- Some upgradibility for the CPU.
- Room for 3.5" SATA-300 hard drives, though more would always be a
bonus. I also have a WD 20GB Caviar drive I would like to connect up
if possible to transfer data over.
- Little or no overclocking features if this will increase the price.

I have a reasonable budget, but anything more then £130 is probably
too much unless there are substantial benefits.

Kind Regards,

Matt

A lot depends on what other features you need:  1 or 2 Ethernet ports?  IEEE
1394 (Firewire)?  How many SATA ports?  How many USB ports?

1 Ethernet port, not bothered about Firewire, two SATA minimum and 6
USB minimum. The ability to add a USB bracket on the front of the case
and use that would be essential as well.

Kind Regards,

Just go to pricewatch dot com and look around  and check out the specs.
Why should I do it for you?

Because I'm asking for people's experiences as well.

Kind Regards,

Matt
