I want to put a new cpu in my mobo.
Currently I have an athlon xp 2000+ running.
What is the fastest cpu I may install in my a7n266-c?
Is there a special name for this athlon model?

Anything that runs on the VM or E version of the board
should also run on the C:

I know of someone who successfully tried a MP2800+
(fastest Athlon with a 266 MHz FSB) in an A7N266-E.
These go for about $315 in Canada - should be about
$225 yankee bucks down south.

And I have tried a Barton 3000+ in an A7N266-VM.
It ran with a 266 MHz FSB instead of the 333 MHz it
is rated for, but it worked just fine. Because of
the drop in FSB it was the equivalent of about an
XP2400+ - so I kept the 2400+ and the 3000+ went
back to the store.
