Makado

They are HIS, Gigabyte and Gigacube.
All of them are about the same price.

What difference does it make anyway?
They are all 9800 pro, right?

What a silly question. What difference does it make? I'll tell you:
Different PCB's, different memory, different manufacturers...It should be
quite obvious what difference it makes.

Hi,

well no, some manufacturers will use better or worse than others. Some
hand-pick their memory chips for added performance etc. . .

Having scanned the web most of this year, you can be in no doubt that the
Radeons are the way to go, specifically the 9800(NP). I just bought a
Sapphire 9800 and so far I am very impressed. Didn't come with a game
bundle, but the box has tons of connectors/adapters, good stuff!

I am having to mod my 9800 by adding heatsinks to the memory chips. I am
not overclocking (yet!) but still the memory gets seriously hot (burning
hot). I didn't notice that this effects anything in 3D games, but I'm sure
it is adding to my overall case temps. With this in mind I would have to
say the Hercules 9800Pro looks like a *cool* (pun hehe) option as it comes
with heatsinks pre-attached to the memory. . .

I've always gotten the ATI models (Built by ATI). Have I been hosing
myself?

I don't think so. But, I could be wrong.

No, the ATI models always use the 6 layer PCB's and highest quality
ram.
