I have to reinstall a Notebook with XP Pro, SQL Server 2005,
Office 2003, VisualBasic 6, the MSDN Library for VB6 and 3rd party
tools.

Which is the "best" installation order/scenario?

V1) XPpro SP2, XP SP3, XP patches, Office 2003, Office SP,
SQL2005, SQL SP, VB6 with MSDN, VB6 SP, 3rd party tools

or

V2) XP pro SP2, Office 2003, SQL2005, VB6 with MSDN,
Office SP, SQL SP, VB6 SP, 3rd party tools, XP SP3, latest XP patches

V3) any other suggestions?

Thank you!

The o/s, any mobo drivers, then o/s critical updates.
Then I'd suggest other MS products, the earliest version first (office
2003?) check for updates after each installation.

- Windows XP SP3 with integrated post-SP3 patches (as many as plausible).
- All updates for Windows XP SP3.
- All hardware drivers for Windows XP SP3.
- AntiVirus Software

Everything after that is up to you.
