Hi all!

My a7n8x-e deluxe made the auto shutdown when my cpu reach 55-60C.
It's that ok? I mean, I know I had to think in cooling the cpu, but, which
is the max temp the cpu can reach without been damage? I though it was 70c!!

If you go to the AMD site...it says that the 3200+ can go to 85c...mine (a
3000+) runs about 48c with a cooling fan and heatsink I bought from CompUSA
(the cooling fan and heatsink that came with the CPU (a stock fan) kept it
at about 53c)...but case fans, how you have the cables arranged inside the
box, where you have the computer setting at, how cool you keep your house,
and how much dust is in and around your fans are some of the factors that
can change this. I believe the board is programmed to shut down at about
72c but you can change this with AsusProbe..but I would not change it
much!...CP

My cpu works at 48c aprox too (gaming and standard programs), but if i run a
3dMark or prime95, the temp goes higher (obviously), but my mother shut down
at 55c aprox.

In the asus probe soft i've got 60c, i will try change it to 72c, maybe the
sensor it's not too precise! ;)

I also ran the 3dmark and prime95 with the case open and a huge "home
ventilator", and everything goes fine, not higher than 40c (aprox). So i
assume it's a heat problem, wel now i'm thinking that maybe it's not the
cpu! ;) mother? video card? (6600gt)

Thanks for your answer!

I'm running same motherboard, same CPU and gfx card, in a 5 year old
case with 5 year old fans. 60mm front and rear with a 120mm on the PSU.
Standard HSF on the CPU & gfx card.

Nothing but the gfx card overclocked (500/1000MHz). All fans running on
'auto'.

Temp: normal gaming prime95
CPU: 56c 60c 65c
MB: 28c <=30c <=33c

It's never set down on me. We've had the hottest day of the year
yesterday. No problems.

Seems a tad high.. Disable Q-fan if you have it enabled. I'd say high 40s
is about average for the 3200+
