If I am having a problem with the DCs in my domain because
a Jr. Admin was playing with the NIST .inf policies. How
do I determine exactly what one he applied to the Default
Domain Controller Policy? Asking him is no longer
possible.

Thank you,

AJ

PS...and, yes, I do yahoo!~

BTW - I can not really install anything on the DC anymore
because I receive a 1311 error everytime I attempt. Yes,
this DC is running TS ( I know that it is not Best
Practice, but it is the only server ). I get the error
on .cab files....For example, I was trying to do an
Administrative Installation of Office 2000 - 1311 error on
Data1.cab. Same thing with the Windows 2000 Resource Kit.

I will remove TS and see if that is the problem.

Thank you all,

AJ

Hello.

There is no direct method to determine what security template was applied to
a server.

Your best bet would be to analyze the server's templates and try to
determine what security changes took place as a result of the template:
C:\WINNT\Security\Templates\Policies

The best method of recovery would be to restore the Default Domain
Controller policy from backup (to a version that existed before unknown
modifications were made).
