I want to upgrade my TNT2 M64 3D 32mb card to
something a bit better just for games, no TV outputs etc.
Make sure your motherboard can take a newer card! An AGP 1x/2x port
will not be able to run an AGP 8x card like a geforce FX model.
Is a Geoforce MX440-8x 128mb DDR AGP @£50 a wise
Bit pricey for an old MX440 dog of a card (the MX cards were not very
good cards compared to their Ti alternatives, they were budget cards).
BUT I don't know what sorts of prices these cards go for in the UK, as
I'm from Australia...an in-your-head conversion would put that card at
about $120 AUD, which is upper range for a card of that sort, especially
when I glance down and see a new AGP 8x DirectX9 compliant geforce fx
card priced at only 8 pounds more! The geforce fx 5200 is the budget
chip, about the geforce 4 equivalent of their mx chips.
choice or Geoforce FX5200 128mb DDR AGP @£58
a better choice.
For only 8 pounds more, yes. HOWEVER, this card, and perhaps both
cards, may not run in your motherboard! Please check this before buying!
I have looked around and seen so many
different cards I am not sure what to go for.
I have a P111 700mhz with 512 mb RAM
Priced around £50 -£60 what should I get ?
