I am running Windows 2000 Professional. I have OPTONLINE
as my internet connection. I use Microsoft's Internet
Explorer. At times, my computer does crazy things, like
fouling up my user configuration. I have to remove my
user name and add it back. My problem is when I now go
online with with the "Blue E" all my favorites are gone
and it's start from scratch. OPTONLINE says the
information is in my computer. Where? I am a "backup"
freak which make life very pleasant. I back up certain
critical files each day. This way I can go back say a
week and restore a file as it was then, not the way it was
at last backup. I've identified some files which are
modified just after a change in "Favorites", backed them
up, made more changes, restored, and "the way it was"
fails to change to what it was when backed up. Marty

Simply launch IE and click on File > Import and Export Wizard, then Export your Favorites to a storage folder or floppy disc. It will generate a file called Bookmark.htm. This file can then be Imported back into the system using the same Wizard and your Favorites will be recreated.

Prior to Importing, verify that the Favorites list is empty in order to avoid any duplicates.

You should do the same routine with the cookies, if you access any websites that required a signup.
